‘Drivers, To Your Vehicles I’

‘Drivers, To Your Vehicle I’ captures the assembly area just before The Glover Trophy practice session gets on the way.

Full of green and yellow colours, it was originally named ‘Racing Green’ before changing to suggest the sound the photo evokes. Before every track event, four words were always spoken. ‘Drivers, to your vehicles’.

Here, drivers can be seen preparing to get on track with one particularly noticeable, strapping his helmet on before getting into his Grand Prix car.

Drivers, Do You Feel the Heat?’

‘Drivers, Do You Feel the Heat?’ is an experimental work on ‘Drivers, To Your Vehicles I’ representing the heat often exhuming out of the engines and into the conductive metal sheets which makes the chassis.

With the image reminding you of a heat map, the duality of the dark shades and the fluorescent orange breathes a whole new life into the image, making it feel as if you’re seeing beneath the skin of it’s counterpart.

‘Drivers, To Your Vehicles II’

While ‘Drivers, Can You Feel the Heat?’ suggests warmth from the vehicles, ‘Drivers, To Your Vehicles II’ offers another perspective, this time showing the viewer where the sunlight caresses.

In shades of pastel pink and yellow, the image allows the viewer to feel the sun in a more explicit manner, making the focus of this image no longer the driver but his car. Bathed in sunlight, it’s every detail can be seen more visibly.
